Cave 23 is the compromise between classic & traditional Portuguese Cuisine and new techniques and bold flavors. The pride in local products is obvious and the passion is reflected into a genuine and modern kitchen, where the ingredients are the protagonists.
To cook is to tell a story in a language of flavors and aromas, and we believe we have a lot to tell.
A year ago Bernardo Agrela felt in love again by the hills of Lisbon. Before that we saw him in several different places. The paradisiac Seychelles and Maldives, where he managed some resort kitchens, which were the starting point for overseas experiences through South Asia and India. But it’s not all about beaches. He worked also in some cosmopolitan spots such as Tokyo and Luxembourg or even the trendy London, in some well known projects such as Bacchus, The Loft and Viajante.
Today, at age 27, he gives his knives, skills and creativity to Cave 23.
